Electrical Engineering Technology - Renewable Energy Technology

Start with Survey of Renewable Energy. The ELTR 1503 Survey of Renewable Energy course explores current environmental, social, and technological issues that are driving interest in, and spreading use of, renewable energy technology.

From this foundation, basic concepts of energy will be explored and explained, leading to a general examination of energy conservation and all common modes of energy "generation" from renewable sources, including:

  • solar-thermal
  • solar-photovoltaic
  • wind energy
  • hydropower

In addition, topics such as alternative means of space heating, water heating and transportation technologies will be explored.

This course is part of the Electrical Technology program's renewable energy specialization tracks and certificates. It's also useful for anyone exploring careers in renewable energy or interested in the environment, technology or alternative energy sources.
