COSC 2613 Computer Prog for Science & Engineering

This is a course for students who need to use the computer as a problem-solving tool in mathematical or scientific applications. Students will write programs, first in C++, later in MATLAB. Among the applications covered are such numerical methods as Newton's root finder, integral approximations, linear regression, matrix inverses, and several simulations. Students will write and implement structured algorithms with special attention given to program design and modularity. Students cannot receive credit for both COSC 2513 and COSC 2613.
