READ 1484 Introduction to College Reading
The student will develop strategies for effective comprehension of passages from essays to text chapters to books. Content will comprise a variety of reading formats, including social science, science, business, and technical. Emphasis will be on improving study skills, reading rate, flexibility and critical reading skills. Grades in this course will be calculated into student grade point averages.
Prerequisite
ENGL 0956 or
ENGL 0954 with a grade of C or better, or
READ 0994 with a grade of C or better, or appropriate reading assessment score. - Must be completed prior to taking this course.
