SPAN1503 Basic Spanish

The student will be introduced to the basics of Spanish language with emphasis on essential speaking and listening skills. The student will learn the fundamentals of idiomatic vocabulary, basic grammar and syntax, and introductory cultural traditions. This course is not intended to be part of the Spanish language sequence. It is a stand-along course. It is an excellent supplement to the regular Spanish sequence of SPAN 1514 and SPAN 1524 since it gives additional practice in basic conversational patterns. Students who choose to take the regular sequence can take this course prior to, concurrently with, or following SPAN 1514 and/or SPAN 1524. AAS: Humanities elective & business elective.
