Facilities and Equipment
Program facilities
A shared building and new teaching greenhouse are facility highlights in the KCC agri-hort programs.
The 2,500 square foot greenhouse was completed in mid-2010 and is used exclusively for teaching traditional and sustainable horticultural practices in a real-world setting.
The agri-hort programs also utilize an adjacent building for classroom, dry and wet laboratory, storage, and offices.
In addition, a number of small structures and areas are used for teaching and laboratory experiences, including a quarter-acre vegetable field and a 720-square-foot high tunnel.
Program equipment
Horticultural equipment for hands-on training in sustainable horticulture and plant production practices:
- Two garden tillers
- One soil sterilizer
- Three hydroponic units -- an aeroponic unit, an ebb/flow unit, and a top-drip unit.
